Which City Is The Best To Live In Australia?

Did you get your Australian PR? Fantastic! Welcome to the club. Next question in your mind must be – where should I live in Australia?

Of course, if you have a state or region sponsored visa, this problem is already solved as you have to stay within that state or region for the next two years.

But for people with 189 subclass visa, making that choice is not easy. At least it wasn’t for me. I didn’t even know whether Sydney was on the east coast or the west coast. All my knowledge about Australian cities was from cricket. Apart from Sydney and Melbourne, they were just names to me and some still are, though I have a much better geographical sense of Australia now.

I think we Indians have a much better understanding of the US than other parts of the world.

Getting Indian PCC And The Road Ahead

Once the medical examination saga was over, the next big thing was to get an Indian Police Clearance Certificate(PCC). All the prerequisites needed to get an Indian PCC in a nice and smooth manner were there. Our passports were recently renewed, both of our passports had spouse name in it and our passports were recently verified by the Police. So getting a PCC was not a big deal. However, you never know when the passport office finds some tiny detail missing and make you go round and round. So, even though I was quite confident, I was still worried.

Undergoing Health Examination – The Whole Story

It was almost a month since I made the payment for the visa application. The time was up for the next task on the list – going ahead with health examination. Many people online suggested to go for medicals once the CO is assigned but I didn’t want to wait that long. Besides, looking at the timeline and historical trend, I had only one month more until the CO was assigned. Of course, I was being optimistic, it could have very well taken more time than that. Thankfully it didn’t but more about that later.
